Contemplation is not reserved to the religious. In the contemporary secularised world we all are called to holiness, i.e. unity with God. Prayer penetrating work is the essence of the Gospel, holiness and contemplation. Every day it is Mary that prays and Martha that works in the heart of the one that contemplates.
